tyre pressure is indeed an important factor for an automobile's fuel consumption.

It is not a great enough factor to be seen as a solution to the fuel price issue.

Fuck the what are we voting right or wrong for?
You criticize the thinking of one of the most successful men in the nation who has poised himself to be the president of the US, and you can't even compose a god damn poll right.
Not to mention how useless the entire poll is without some sort of links or at least citations of the "quotes" I'm sure you just made up.
Nice use of exclamation marks btw.

Better than it sounds when you first hear it, oddly enough. Properly inflated tires roll more easily than those low on air, which is half the point of tires in the first place. An properly inflated tire takes less power to move, requiring in turn less gas to create the power.
Whether the savings is significant or not I don't know. My guess is that you'll save about a gallon per tank.

Tire underinflation is a huge problem on the roads, the fuel consumption issue exists but the saftey aspect is much greater.
Yes, keeping your tires inflated to the -vehicle- manufacturers recommended limit will improve fuel mileage, handling, turn in response etc. Lower pressures -to a point- will improve straight line braking, acceleration and ride quality.
If Obama mentioned this it does not make him a genius, however one aspect is correct:
If demand for fuel decreases slightly because of correctly inflated tires gas prices will lower in response, though this is no significant or long term solution.

correct tyre pressure can reduce your petrol costs by 10 percent:
Money-saving tip: Check your tyre pressure - Auto Trader UK - Features - News and Reviews Hub
  and 10 percent IS significant.

I dont believe its significant as it was put by Obama as described in the poll. It is not significant as a solution.
